Curriculum Leadership Team
Background:
The Curriculum Leadership Team was formed to contribute to the design of the diocesan professional learning plan and to increase the instructional leadership capacity of individuals within our system. We recognize that organizational dimensions are vital to the success of any professional learning goal (Guskey Level 3) and impact all system-wide change efforts. CLT members help to create the culture, structures, and dispositions for continuous professional learning within SD Catholic schools.
Mission:
The Curriculum Leadership Team exists to oversee the diocesan-wide professional learning plan and provides organizational support to schools in the implementation of diocesan initiatives.
Teacher Liaison Team
Background:
We recognize the role of instructional leadership is not limited to the principal. As such, we leverage the strengths of teachers from within our diocese to improve student learning. Teacher leaders from our schools are essential in the implementation of diocesan-wide and school-based initiatives. We strive to maintain a well-balanced team composed of educators who teach varying grades and content areas and represent all geographic clusters in the Diocese of San Diego. Teacher Liaisons receive a stipend from the diocese for their work.
Mission:
The Teacher Liaison Team works to improve learning for all students by increasing educator capacity throughout the diocese.

Content-Area Site Leaders
Background:
We recognize the role of instructional leadership is not limited to the principal. As such, we leverage the strengths of teachers from within our diocese to improve student learning. Teacher leaders from our schools are essential in the implementation of diocesan-wide and school-based initiatives. Teacher Site Leaders (i.e., Science Site Leaders, Math Site Leaders, & Literacy/Social Science Site Leaders) serve as teachers, learners, and leaders to advance the academic goals and priorities of the school and diocese (NSBECS Standards 6 & 7). Content-area site leaders may receive a stipend from their site for their work, depending on the responsibilities they assume.

The mission of content-area site leaders is to guide the implementation of high-quality, research-based professional learning and curriculum development at their respective school sites.
Equity & Inclusion Steering Committee
Background:
Our approach to equity and inclusion stems from our belief in the intrinsic human dignity of every person that is the bedrock of the social teaching of the Catholic Church. See more information here.

The SD Catholic Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee exists to promote equitable and inclusive practices by providing resources, professional learning, and collaborative support to SD Catholic educators in order to meet the needs of all learners.

Teacher Induction Mentors
Background:
Through a partnership with SDCOE, we are able to offer an SD Catholic teacher Induction program for our teachers to earn their Clear CA credentials. Mentors receive coaching support from SDCOE and the SD Catholic diocesan leads.
A stipend is provided to mentors for their support of our teachers. See more information here.

Mission: The Instructional Leadership Coaching Team (ILCT) exists to increase the capacity of school leadership through individual and team coaching in order to promote academic excellence within the Diocese of San Diego.

Background:
Approximately half of SD Catholic K-8 schools are currently utilizing a standards-referenced approach to teaching, assessing, and grading. More information can be found here.
Mission:
The SRG Leadership Coalition exists to support the implementation of standards-referenced grading and reporting systems in SD Catholic schools through an SRG mentor program and ongoing professional learning.
23-24 SRG Leadership Coalition Mentor Program.pdfVP/AP Mastermind Group
Opportunity:
SD Catholic vice-principals/assistant principals have the opportunity to meet via Zoom one time per month after school for one hour with colleagues who serve in similar positions in a Mastermind group. The SD Catholic Mastermind is limited to 10 participants who serve in the roles of either part-time or full-time VP/AP. The SD Catholic Mastermind will be facilitated by Dr. Julie Cantillon.
What is a Mastermind?
A Mastermind is a peer-to-peer mentoring group that meets over a sustained period of time. It offers a combination of professional learning, problem-solving, peer accountability, and collaboration.
General Leadership Opportunities for Catholic School Educators
The Trustey Family STEM Teaching Fellows spans three summers and two school years to form STEM teachers for the middle grades. The Fellowship is driven by three Summer Institutes in which Fellows participate in three modules: 1) STEM Integration; 2) Core Instructional Practices; and 3) STEM Blueprint Plan. Themes of equity, access, and leadership are woven throughout the Summer Institutes.
The School of Leadership of Education Sciences (SOLES) at the University of San Diego (USD) is fortunate to have a young and thriving history with the Johnson Family Foundation. Since 2015, the Johnson Education Fellows Program has supported teachers in the San Diego region, from both public and Catholic schools, through professional development that focuses on how they, as teaching professionals, can best support students with learning disabilities in general education classrooms.
The Alliance for Catholic Education and the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) have partnered to offer a new and exciting opportunity. The Latino Educator and Administrator Development (LEAD) program aims to strengthen the Latino voice in both the classroom and school level nationally. This initiative is designed to invite, advance, and retain Latino educators in Catholic schools, as well as develop a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist in this landscape.
This 11-month certificate program*, offered by LMU's Center for Catholic Education (CCE), provides professional development specific to Catholic school leadership. The four-course program of study (10 graduate-level units) is uniquely designed to address four major themes in Catholic school administration: mission-focused leadership; faith and spiritual leadership; operational management; and instructional leadership. The integration of faith and professional practice is made relevant through pragmatic and project-based learning experiences that prepare candidates to grow as Catholic school leaders.

In an effort to assist with school and teacher development, the Program for Inclusive Education (PIE) provides a spectrum of learning opportunities to foster the knowledge, skills, and dispositions for inclusive education.
The Catholic Inclusive Education Certificate program will provide Catholic school educators, including teachers and administrators, with the knowledge and skills to effectively educate students with a wide range of abilities, including students with disabilities, in a Catholic elementary and high school.
The Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program is a 25-month graduate program) delivered over three summers and two academics years) for educators seeking to become transformational Catholic school leaders. Remick Leaders are enrolled in coursework designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to become exceptional Catholic school leaders while addressing the standards for building-level leadership. Upon completion of the program, participants earn a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame and can be eligible for K-12 administrative licensure.
